Writing is easy. Jazz is . . .Which speaks to you?

"Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead."

- Gene Fowler -

"Jazz is the only music in which the same note can be played night after night but differently each time." - Ornette Coleman -

Which of these statements speaks to you more? why? How are they similar?

What about writing about Jazz? whoa.
When writing is good it feels like Jazz, Like a Coleman Sax solo. When it's bad it feels like..well..Writing.
Kerouac described his writing as "spontaneous bop prose,"
Jazz is about momentum. Movement.
Writing, when it works, is about the same thing.
